In a major step towards the proposed Special Economic Zone in the state taking shape, the electronic hardware SEZ spread over 339.75 acres at Maheshwaram in Rangareddy district and proposed at a cost of 116 crore.

The SEZ will be home to companies manufacturing electronic goods like semiconductors, resistors and printed circuit boards.

Noted Wipro company has invested Rs 220 cr. in Consumer Care sector by setting up its unit in Maheshwaram mandal on the outskirts of the city. IT Minister KT Rama Rao, secretary Jayesh Ranjan signed the deal with Wipro company Director Rishad Premji, Wipro Enterprises during a meeting on the sidelines of WCIT 2018 at HICC in Hyderabad.

The unit will manufacture toilet soaps and other personal care products. The project will come up in a 40 acre land in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy District, creating 500 direct jobs and about 200 indirect jobs and many more to come.
